COMPLEX STATEMENT: Black Lives Matter

Complex recognizes the responsibility we have to the multicultural community we inhabit as individuals and cater to as a company, to be clear on where we stand.

Black lives matter. And black lives still matter after the horrible events in Dallas. The murder of 5 police officers, and the shooting of 9 others, is a tragedy we mourn deeply. However, it does not obfuscate the systemic racism that has resulted in the untold number of murders of African-Americans at the hands of law enforcement, or the urgency with which that crisis must be addressed.

Our country is broken. It has been broken since its inception, and it won’t be easily mended. But if it’s going to be fixed, it’s going to be fixed by people like us. Complex pledges to utilize our platform and our resources to not only help lead in the conversation, but to help lead in the implementation of the necessary changes we must make as a country.

We must change the laws and we must change their enforcement. How we do it will be complex, but why we must do it is simple.
